Whats this? Another update!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Work continues on the White Scars, albeit at a painfully slow pace, almost ready to join the ranks is the second Tactical Squad, six strong, armed with a Meltagun and a Veteran Sergeant with a Power Fist:</div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
just a few touch ups and little bits to do on these guys now, drilling the meltagun barrel, the topknot on the bare-headed marine, a few highlights, the usual ;)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Pretty happy with how these guys have come out, a few close ups showing the tribal markings and that kinda Jazz. But wait there's more!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div>
It would have felt incredibly wrong not to paint up an assault squad for this army, seen as you know, they are White Scars. Armed with a pair of Plasma Pistols and a Veteran Sergeant with his trusty Thunder Hammer i'm hoping these guys can claim a few heads on the battlefield...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
lastly a shot of the mundane process of painting the shoulder pads (these have all since been used on the guys you see above)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuHAF4bQ8Kxp1WCOUfsDubnUyerfTRWUYnlyyQWQu3Mf9KoMLfXObyQW7yCqsL15kcwaGi_aAVHCtJbH1Ti76XifLbpxogpeMCBtaUzwRoTnAEznGzkYjGXC8LsxqCV_oy0pIcxuRQgVE-/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuHAF4bQ8Kxp1WCOUfsDubnUyerfTRWUYnlyyQWQu3Mf9KoMLfXObyQW7yCqsL15kcwaGi_aAVHCtJbH1Ti76XifLbpxogpeMCBtaUzwRoTnAEznGzkYjGXC8LsxqCV_oy0pIcxuRQgVE-/s1600/002.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
yeah its been a long time since I've posted, haven't really had any enthusiasm to paint or game recently, hence the severe lack of updates... The Tale of Four Gamers thing we were doing has gone the way of the Dodo, no real surprise there and as such the White Scars have been put on the back burner...<br />
<br />
However I have finally got round to painting up another unit, that aren't actually White Scars but are part of the army list, as you may (or may not) be aware, I hosted a poll asking for peoples thoughts, whether my Sternguard should be a Deathwatch team or should be part of my White Scars force, I was always keen to do a deathwatch team and thankfully the viewers agreed, so with out further ado I present to you Kill Team Sigma VI-V<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG9DUCBltArbgDqyJ1ZkCE473CllTnmqjGY1zGzPGMjw67CVSPDsj47f9RZbHzRawuHIawOpI9SADz3gPSRtTa-0zoBJS39lsgbrO__Lhh9HiBB0tLjozn6PBSEx-2nViXVJb2GowdHqrw/s1600/086.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG9DUCBltArbgDqyJ1ZkCE473CllTnmqjGY1zGzPGMjw67CVSPDsj47f9RZbHzRawuHIawOpI9SADz3gPSRtTa-0zoBJS39lsgbrO__Lhh9HiBB0tLjozn6PBSEx-2nViXVJb2GowdHqrw/s1600/086.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So far the team is only six strong but will be extended to a full strength ten man squad, armed with five Combi-Meltas and two Heavy Flamers to try and take out a large threat from the opponents army. Of course they shall land with the obligatory Drop Pod.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQYU5d30DJsvfIGwNGVtuRCbHAszfkEFAkkw79dl94vxpBn18PVXD3WKZL_960bK_6YS-_l7aNRUrn5ub-MvZlX9PgxXu4lxu93A0SxthQ22KngcVCfycbGHn6n4p2dwkFhyphenhyphendTb4_9YsaK/s1600/090.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQYU5d30DJsvfIGwNGVtuRCbHAszfkEFAkkw79dl94vxpBn18PVXD3WKZL_960bK_6YS-_l7aNRUrn5ub-MvZlX9PgxXu4lxu93A0SxthQ22KngcVCfycbGHn6n4p2dwkFhyphenhyphendTb4_9YsaK/s1600/090.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This is the Veteran Sergeant, from the Raven Guard Chapter, I tried to make them as identifiable as possible, so in the example above using the trademark Corvus Armour helmet, as well as a Raven Guard Shoulder Pad and Bolter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkg2UYLmDltK7mn17Xo3zuDkZRKAE7nlrR9x7SRpwCYpQHHBAEtavJcHTsfELc2LQCo1h1DfkIt2HsCdP_Q-FcbDH31F6Ui_taQoWTyC401B1kVXnhrfM3qZNK2_bHPWvwH8b9os139UV_/s1600/091.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkg2UYLmDltK7mn17Xo3zuDkZRKAE7nlrR9x7SRpwCYpQHHBAEtavJcHTsfELc2LQCo1h1DfkIt2HsCdP_Q-FcbDH31F6Ui_taQoWTyC401B1kVXnhrfM3qZNK2_bHPWvwH8b9os139UV_/s1600/091.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The Iron Hand, with his bionic arm and leg, like the Raven Guard to help identify him with his parent chapter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivVDC7YsM3GeL_UyNNQQxp9DOkvPfwjGe6vDkshB7CeCQfyb_AbPoRhOp6q3_wjsfGWu-fCBJIdB6MCaVSqgOiVBrwQqOTU4WzomEVVQXDhmPp5jKyHt_2r-gl_Ysp2gzG_jo62rlkw2hU/s1600/088.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivVDC7YsM3GeL_UyNNQQxp9DOkvPfwjGe6vDkshB7CeCQfyb_AbPoRhOp6q3_wjsfGWu-fCBJIdB6MCaVSqgOiVBrwQqOTU4WzomEVVQXDhmPp5jKyHt_2r-gl_Ysp2gzG_jo62rlkw2hU/s1600/088.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
so far we have an Iron Hand, Raven Guard, Sons of Medusa (still a WIP, his shoulder pad may get swapped out at some point) Crimson Fists, Black Shield and Red Scorpion. I particularly like the fluff of the Black Shields, marines whose chapter have either been disgraced, through turning renegade or being wiped out, I'll leave it to your imagination which Chapter he once belonged too...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6MGKYgyKP726eyqvcGoZrODa1eodTXnorq7MnaPn5vDlr691FriIHvf550jQYw-OMBen_E_HXYaj384La79vLIAwvjzoyFHdPet6_aSaFLdtPDlZhlUkquL86zFgJjtOjZ3Ca8z8RRq4V/s1600/089.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6MGKYgyKP726eyqvcGoZrODa1eodTXnorq7MnaPn5vDlr691FriIHvf550jQYw-OMBen_E_HXYaj384La79vLIAwvjzoyFHdPet6_aSaFLdtPDlZhlUkquL86zFgJjtOjZ3Ca8z8RRq4V/s1600/089.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The Deathwatch symbol, I jazzed this up a little bit, painting the skull and crossed bones in gold as I felt pure silver was a little bland.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6EeQ90cZz1eRjUar_mNJBMgtIfS5e3iAHSc5BDLFers8GwBqtTXLZb5oBnYKhErU8pNCRLxT0ltVZXUTYyPa6ayVMk_5xWtyVs3Oi-FDEBaKACtBDyAxYNFRnjv8ZDbQ2dbYXxRETVgua/s1600/093.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6EeQ90cZz1eRjUar_mNJBMgtIfS5e3iAHSc5BDLFers8GwBqtTXLZb5oBnYKhErU8pNCRLxT0ltVZXUTYyPa6ayVMk_5xWtyVs3Oi-FDEBaKACtBDyAxYNFRnjv8ZDbQ2dbYXxRETVgua/s1600/093.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMfFVpmQuCjmMYm7591UCtECn9BI01ZLL5Rg4fk3LD5bRtZVBktVuNq61y83I5h6pzFMrHTooTszvfs62wC6DnLW_2fEwE53bfqP81IswIOTRpaXVY2p2gW9oa6fTveDvFT_RTgH1YBe7y/s1600/092.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMfFVpmQuCjmMYm7591UCtECn9BI01ZLL5Rg4fk3LD5bRtZVBktVuNq61y83I5h6pzFMrHTooTszvfs62wC6DnLW_2fEwE53bfqP81IswIOTRpaXVY2p2gW9oa6fTveDvFT_RTgH1YBe7y/s1600/092.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
lastly a couple of pictures from the Drop Pod, with a shot of the interior, very pleased with how their transport came out, however I don't even want to think about how long it took to paint the damn thing, and of course I have another sat unpainted... sigh!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
so what is next for the Deathwatch? What chapters are the rest of the squad going to belong too? Aha! that would be telling! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
as always comments and criticism is always welcome, and as always none of the models are quite finished I'm sure there will be some tweaking done to them when I get round to it (sigh!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Just a quick post today, not even featuring the white scars!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
so what do I have to show you? some WIP shots... of a Fantasy Skin Wolf:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIuarlYZhMsgkhSR4397VVJOB0rkBOCbfxTNCoBl5vhIjffmapYbXhvkka06QvrPnNUUwnWI1eZjjoZpXq5gwIEOqbX9Boa5jvmpapGBTB4dEk6MAEuRzmpJFe5Opi3NQssNcydbuIe_zM/s1600/IMG_1001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIuarlYZhMsgkhSR4397VVJOB0rkBOCbfxTNCoBl5vhIjffmapYbXhvkka06QvrPnNUUwnWI1eZjjoZpXq5gwIEOqbX9Boa5jvmpapGBTB4dEk6MAEuRzmpJFe5Opi3NQssNcydbuIe_zM/s1600/IMG_1001.JPG" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Yeah that's right, fantasy... however, as those keen eyed among us will notice, that is indeed a circular base, this guy, and his fellow Wolves when ordered and painted up will be used as Chaos Spawn, with such gorgeous models such as these I couldn't resist using them in my Night Lords, and they will easily fit with another Chaos Marine army I have my eye on... always another project eh?</div>
<div>

A beautiful model, this fella has been sat on my shelf for a while, waiting paint, for too long, waiting paint. a nice simplistic dark colour scheme to set us off, just a combination of greys and blacks, the white will either get a few washes or a nice skin colour over the top</div>

a shot of the drybrushing of the fur, built up using Dawnstone, a nuln oil shade and then a couple of progressively lighter greys mixing White Scar with Dawnstone The skin starts with Abaddon Black and then has a Dawnstone drybrush using again Nuln Oil shade to darken the tone and provide a nice contrast...</div>

<br />
Here we are in about to jump into April, I cant believe it has already been three months since I started this White Scars Army, production is still coming on, albeit slowly, I've just about caught up with what I was meant to paint in February and of course I haven't completed March's quota either... but lets see where we are at...<br />
<br />
firstly The Attack Bike Squadron:<br />
<br />

The commander is about 60% built now, need to fill some gaps and get him painted, but he'll be a separate blog in his own right...<br />
<br />
next month? Another tactical squad will be in the works, have yet to decide what else, but time will tell<br />

<br /></div>
<div>
Secondly, is it really already the 2nd of March? Where are the updates? What the hell is going on!?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Yeah, so White Scars bikers, completely under estimated how much time it would take to paint up a single biker, let alone the 7 models I said I would get done during February. Between that, work being a real struggle at the moment and various other things taking up my time and attention, I have fallen short of the quota, and have a group of half painted bikers... but anyway here are some WIP shots for you all to enjoy...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So as you can see the bikes are now all assembled and based, they just need the bolters attached to the front, some touch ups to details and some pesky red tribal markings</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The attack bike is also at the same stage, well slightly further ahead, but being a larger model its all relative right?</div>

Close up of some details ;)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So the war machine must carry on turning, next month?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
firstly finish these guys ASAP</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
- Captain on Bike w/ Teeth of Terra, Melta Bombs and Auspex (plan to have those to being optional)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</span><span style="color: white;">the next three bikes as you can see are built and painted, some touching up still needs to occur, but they are coming on nicely, the riders are in the process of being assembled, the main problem is of course that they only have on style of chest plate, which needs to be swapped out as much as possible for variation.<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: white; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnsXNVVXgNkE4ZDd4evnKab2r2Cxr-EL1ekMa3SiyZdsLP_pXfmVTjQOKBamNEWdEl0CbvzEvjfOwSjJ_ky4maMY9mvPKJDrjNApe_9KlkWh90m0cBIkw3AsbtHBw1yDU_-gxwVqbsj2ir/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnsXNVVXgNkE4ZDd4evnKab2r2Cxr-EL1ekMa3SiyZdsLP_pXfmVTjQOKBamNEWdEl0CbvzEvjfOwSjJ_ky4maMY9mvPKJDrjNApe_9KlkWh90m0cBIkw3AsbtHBw1yDU_-gxwVqbsj2ir/s1600/006.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</span><span style="color: white;">Xarl is also coming on nicely, the bronze banding now complete, I removed the head for ease of painting <i>Executioner, </i>but i'm happy with the progress thus far...<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</span><span style="color: white;">a WIP shot of Tolemion, I wont lie it's been nice to not paint white on a Marine!<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: white; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-gL90fbIgAcv2qMj_Z5XydZrSIN_JXJ74mi-JNC5GmnRYjCf65SlJfoe1HSp-9GKwIjRO59QMd-m85REv8WMzg0Nk05uGFTw_vcJ0NzXk2tmMGi35phAPzq3Ehj-NY0i1GSi4ukqtS2WO/s1600/007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-gL90fbIgAcv2qMj_Z5XydZrSIN_JXJ74mi-JNC5GmnRYjCf65SlJfoe1HSp-9GKwIjRO59QMd-m85REv8WMzg0Nk05uGFTw_vcJ0NzXk2tmMGi35phAPzq3Ehj-NY0i1GSi4ukqtS2WO/s1600/007.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</span><span style="color: white;">Most of these week's progress has gone in to painstakingly painting Tolemion's shield, taken from the Event only Boarding Marine... The Imperial Eagle is now complete, after about three or four hours painting, slow and steady<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: white; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8K7ev9b7DnM03uc9aLd5g4cqr5tOQEfTTceTYSIAjstPhhobLB_tjP6e118mcQOcUM-FxB-w8pGksc8KYUMzqgB5Kgl6P2_3cqHbceWDcks9GBlq2TeT257Y0zIekX2F5FL90m5nYzMii/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8K7ev9b7DnM03uc9aLd5g4cqr5tOQEfTTceTYSIAjstPhhobLB_tjP6e118mcQOcUM-FxB-w8pGksc8KYUMzqgB5Kgl6P2_3cqHbceWDcks9GBlq2TeT257Y0zIekX2F5FL90m5nYzMii/s1600/005.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</span><span style="color: white;">The Duel as it currently stands... Still have to build a base for these two to slot into, my main concern is that they are very dynamic, the main problem with this was I really wasn't keen on cutting up the Finecast of Tolemion's body but alas, perseverance right?</span><br />

As I mentioned previously, I'm trying this one by painting these guys on the sprue to see if its better for White Scars, here's what I have so far...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmmbgnhUwC4NpeKe6Xck9rGvZKF7-KT6cwDD9BSQZx5KsbdYNb6zx5IqjTNNyI3thkwufoGiX6RxCxiSEAIVE-iS4oF3WihPf8ITUdXHW4ApL8j-jqMNqHQZLCuOinJUFL1Z8KuylpJZyF/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmmbgnhUwC4NpeKe6Xck9rGvZKF7-KT6cwDD9BSQZx5KsbdYNb6zx5IqjTNNyI3thkwufoGiX6RxCxiSEAIVE-iS4oF3WihPf8ITUdXHW4ApL8j-jqMNqHQZLCuOinJUFL1Z8KuylpJZyF/s1600/001.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
The test model mounted on a his base, this was the first one I did separately to get a feel for what I was doing, and I have so say, he's come along quite nicely<br />
<br />

Batch painting, slow and steady, but we're getting there...</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Found an old commander sprue in my bitzbox, so I've made a start on the commander now, but all in due time right? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you've been reading this blog recently, you'll know this isn't the only thing that I'm painting up this month, here is my Duel Entry, slowly coming along, but hey, the end of the month is still a decent amount of time away so... Unfortunately I've hit a little bit of a roadblock, as GW have removed the Genesis Chapter pads from their webstore, and of course I haven't order the bits yet, so Tolemion is going to be a little more tricky, but here is where I'm at so...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Lastly, I'm adding a poll to my blog, so if you do read this please take time to answer, very simply, I'm toying the idea of painting up the Sternguard Veteran's squad as a Deathwatch Team, seen as the rules fit perfectly with the Deathwatch Fluff, this would also provide a nice contrasting centre piece to the army and will give the opportunity to add some great character to the army, but i'm undecided, opinions on this would be greatly appreciated...</div>

<br />
here it is, the fruits of my labour for January, may I present to you the first Tactical Squad, their Razorback Transport and an Attack Bike from the White Scars chapter. As I have previously mentioned, painting white for this army has been a steep learning curve and next months painting shall be undertaken with the lessons I have learnt in mind, I plan on trying to paint the models as much on the sprue as possible, this leads to it's own issues but, we shall see how this turns out and then take it from there... anyway, less rambling more photos right?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyyiaZdpjJ-ChbNEdZ2BwJSxPdQY9NOtAtnmBH6JrNwIYTbtsRypP5r6tTv7v7Y-_FVMx7mEzv6JIOgAthNOzTYLQmWwB-gCeKbGplsGBOeejk4sUd56R41Vy_vrU6PkEwv4aNGZbehBCu/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyyiaZdpjJ-ChbNEdZ2BwJSxPdQY9NOtAtnmBH6JrNwIYTbtsRypP5r6tTv7v7Y-_FVMx7mEzv6JIOgAthNOzTYLQmWwB-gCeKbGplsGBOeejk4sUd56R41Vy_vrU6PkEwv4aNGZbehBCu/s1600/002.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvbJZ8nbMdLxYR0Nh3nC8dUeRzo3Ylp1FvbifAVPhqKwij7RbUQQT86uEoJ-zre27wqiob-lTOa_mA6hDxi0vMtjI0pe-0jXYunR5UrlDHe2d059FactYWs02leBV4n50hFIh0-bIwD3ro/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvbJZ8nbMdLxYR0Nh3nC8dUeRzo3Ylp1FvbifAVPhqKwij7RbUQQT86uEoJ-zre27wqiob-lTOa_mA6hDxi0vMtjI0pe-0jXYunR5UrlDHe2d059FactYWs02leBV4n50hFIh0-bIwD3ro/s1600/003.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The Attack Bike, armed with a multi-melta, there will be several of these in the final army, and end result on the next one will be an improvement, that is after all what we're after...<br />

We're implemented a scoring system for our tale of four gamers, just for a little bit of friendly rivalry, this revolves around making sure you paint the quota each month, and in time, there are also bonus challenges, the first of which was to submit a 1500 point army list... so this month i've racked up 3 points, completing all three tasks... just have to wait for the others now...<br />
<br />
so what's next? well I wont be able to resist tinkering with what I've painted, but the aside, next months painting quota is...<br />
<br />
A space marine Bike Squad with a veteran sergeant with a Power Fist and 2 Melta Guns as well as a second Attack Bike, this comes in at 236 points, and if I get time, I might have a look at building and painting Drogo Khan to lead this host...<br />
<br />
anyway until next time...<br />

FIGHT!Evening All, first off the White Scars are coming along nicely but wont be featured in today's blog, it's always good to vary things up a little right? and We all know my feelings about the VIII so, today's post, that's right you guessed it features:<div>

First off however, a little background, my local Games Workshop, like many host a painting competition each month, it's run by the manager Craig, whose always good to have a chat with and throw some hobby ideas at. Each month has a different category, January is either a Vehicle or Monstrous creature, but i'm realistically I wont get round to entering that one now (was lazy, with this months idea) February however is duel, and what better seen is there to try and re-create than the showdown in Void Stalker where Xarl goes head to head with Tolemion a Company Champion from the Genesis chapter, still very much in a WIP stage but here is where I am at:</div>

Red Desert Bases on the Cheap...Okay so, something new and a bit different today, a tutorial on home made bases, these are cheap, quick and easy. I think they look pretty good when done, so I thought I would share my technique with you all<br />
<br />
what you need:<br />
<br />
Bases (that's a given)<br />
Slate<br />
Sand<br />
Polyfilla<br />
<br />
<br />
The polyfilla is the trick to this technique, you don't really need to worry about the quality of the stuff, generally, we're not looking for a nice smooth finish, and that can be achieved with a bit of water... I got a tube from Homebase, of their own brand, for under three quid...<br />
<br />
so first things first, spread a layer of polyfilla onto the top of the base. Now, depending on what look you are going for, you can either smooth this down, or leave it un-natural and uneven. after a short period (5 to 10 minutes, you can then take a piece of wire, or a sculpting tool and draw some cracks into the polyfilla<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSZV3TFfsYO1_vvvB6WMw0pezspPqSrUC_awR0BEIkPEszKMGKjEza62-PFAiSVIABrUT1jdBQHEzEi4hJwjCet4Io1SvvbaTtY-cOwsxIS4Qm5meu-TR-D1tCutaKsRyDYaJeVRtK7ZcG/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSZV3TFfsYO1_vvvB6WMw0pezspPqSrUC_awR0BEIkPEszKMGKjEza62-PFAiSVIABrUT1jdBQHEzEi4hJwjCet4Io1SvvbaTtY-cOwsxIS4Qm5meu-TR-D1tCutaKsRyDYaJeVRtK7ZcG/s1600/003.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is what you should be looking for, try to make the lines look as natural as possible, don't have them all going in one direction, have them change angels and converge with one another, have them fade out in the middle of the base...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHbN9w30PlLBoMEASVN5Jshq6exdPUJOWPTCAabAb_MW9qNScBOOWmBgrIl5QcYi4rJF67j9lx5sUYKMmO3ItU4ZB2TpuLYfAlne3Bet0A0tsFzWtofiOMTC3BO8bYeEDNQydQ3sV3Youj/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHbN9w30PlLBoMEASVN5Jshq6exdPUJOWPTCAabAb_MW9qNScBOOWmBgrIl5QcYi4rJF67j9lx5sUYKMmO3ItU4ZB2TpuLYfAlne3Bet0A0tsFzWtofiOMTC3BO8bYeEDNQydQ3sV3Youj/s1600/004.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
This 60mm base shows a combination of polyfilla, slate and sand, I glued the slate in place, then added the Polyfilla, then the sand, this gives a little variation, almost like the cracked uneven ground, blends into the normal desert once more...<br />
<br />
As we're doing our armies on a Martian setting (or similar, I'm sure Mars isn't the only red planet in the universe) the next step was to paint the bases with Khorne red, I didn't actually bother to undercoat these first, the only step I would advise is to use a second layer of PVA glue on top of the sand to seal it place...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg07ZnyZLZ7yU6pilRCOA9Kxk4OYgdV_im29eN9joZQofwA4lS8ONyIozR8-74AKZ0r-qLDL0QP77ZW-E_V-FDwIX0okcdcIb85Pwg426Hf0bMNcjLlhEMVyZvO6bcnLz-pfu2I2DxIap5B/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg07ZnyZLZ7yU6pilRCOA9Kxk4OYgdV_im29eN9joZQofwA4lS8ONyIozR8-74AKZ0r-qLDL0QP77ZW-E_V-FDwIX0okcdcIb85Pwg426Hf0bMNcjLlhEMVyZvO6bcnLz-pfu2I2DxIap5B/s1600/005.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
the next step was to drybrush the bases using Wazzadakka Red, a medium drybrush should suffice so that the bases pick up a decent amount of the second colour without becoming too heavy handed with it... </div>
<br />
once this has dried using a liberal amount of red wash (I used Baal Wash because I had a pot left over) coat the entire base, the wash shall flow into the cracks, shading them and the unnatural leveling of the base, giving a nice varied appearance for very little effort, as the photos show below<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

The natural grooves in the Slate will lend themselves to the drybrush, and will be brought out further by the wash, there is no real work involved making these look decent... The last step is to give a final light drybrush of Wazzadakka Red over the top of the base just to give a further easy highlight</div>

The possibilities with this type of basing are not just limited to the red planet, this would work for any desert based army, or using the polyfilla (without the cracks) to build up a mud base, add some thin balsa wood and some barbed wire and you would have a decent, simple trench base... that give me an idea... brb...</div>

Here are some close ups of the Free Hand I have been working on, I always feel with these kinds of things that less is more, and the only one I'm really not sure about is the Beakie Marine's helmet, I kinda feel that may be too much. Some of it is a bit wonky but that'll come with practice and patience (something you clearly need spades off with White Scars...<br />
<br />
One of the things I've already grown to love about painting these however is the stark contrast of the colours, the combination of red, white and black really does stand out...<br />

Lastly the Razorback, who is still coming on, but all in good time right?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09801908104913267781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7300172491797592251.post-76989122555174045262014-01-12T13:31:00.001-08:002014-01-12T13:31:58.825-08:00Month 1 WIP... So here is the first 'proper' update of the new White Scars army that I am building and safe to say, it is not a smooth road to success just yet. Having never painted such a bright army before, this has been a steep learning curve, and no doubt it shall continue to be so for a while.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOQAaQs8eikdpVF4plRcbQ3j3SVzBJ-cBul_SZxS2lLZyKK96GtbZpv_ccEKyQdlR0Tjc-l7O4VtzdNhNxazk5X50Zr3HtXl3V8Vcp5-7TQcGKMBP1Km3wA5VXToE5XFfJgeGGapafu7Ty/s1600/221.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOQAaQs8eikdpVF4plRcbQ3j3SVzBJ-cBul_SZxS2lLZyKK96GtbZpv_ccEKyQdlR0Tjc-l7O4VtzdNhNxazk5X50Zr3HtXl3V8Vcp5-7TQcGKMBP1Km3wA5VXToE5XFfJgeGGapafu7Ty/s1600/221.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
So here is the tactical squad with the first stages of paint on them, what have I learnt so far?<br />
<br />
1. painting white is hard, you need patience<br />
2. water those paints down, white needs lots of water to stop it from being blotchy or streaky<br />
3. a nice decent priming is essential<br />
<br />
next batch of models I'm going to try painting on the sprue, to see if I notice any significant difference, eventually it will most likely be a mixture of both, but time will tell, anyway some more photos yes?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjpKshIgsQesEG0ZkUNBiFOL1zmIk3V-YBfrRAXcw4EBa5g9viHVexImWvtIjqVwFX-DtxhkyDz1ZLYFRdcJ6hajGON-VXRbfTxtYXtCHnVd3LD20LhQzH9G9uXpvUibY2FJge8G86VBIq/s1600/222.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjpKshIgsQesEG0ZkUNBiFOL1zmIk3V-YBfrRAXcw4EBa5g9viHVexImWvtIjqVwFX-DtxhkyDz1ZLYFRdcJ6hajGON-VXRbfTxtYXtCHnVd3LD20LhQzH9G9uXpvUibY2FJge8G86VBIq/s1600/222.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
my first attempts at some free hand, again this is a little tricky but in time, I pray i'll get better at those straight lines (I also did one on the attack bike, but it looks terrible)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
a very WIP shot of the Attack bike, this was done this evening before the photos were taken and has had no touching up as of yet...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
the Razorback, I'm not convinced about the red, part of me feels its too much, part of me feels its too basic, time will tell (six months down the line, I know I'll still be tinkering with this)</div>

obligatory group shot, lets hope I improve on this by the end of the month haha<br />
<br />
lastly, a couple of links, to the other armies that are being built for this, we've still got to get Dan to sort out his Blog so that you can see his renegade guard, but all in good time I guess:<br />

A New Project......cause you know I've finished ALL my other ones...<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">
So it’s been a long time since I updated this blog, a
combination of gigs, work and a simple lack of motivation got in the way of
doing any work on the Orks, or the Night Lords, or seemingly one hundred other
projects that are always on the go. So with that in mind, what better time to
get together with some friends and decide that we are going to start a
completely new project? </div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">
Towards the end of November I got in contact with a
couple of mates and broached the subject of doing a Tale of Four
Painters/Gamers project. We spoke at some length and laid out some aims for
this project as well as those pesky obligatory ground rules. Firstly we wanted
to make sure that all the armies fitted to a theme, and as such we decided that
they would have to be based on a red desert, in the style of the board that was
made earlier in the year.</div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">
Secondly we decided that the army we chose would have to
be an army which you don’t currently collect, with our group and in particular
some of the participants there are barely any armies that we haven’t collected
at some point, so it was important not to make this too restrictive. However
this decision put both Orks and Chaos off the table for me, which was a shame
as I was really tempted to start an Iron Warriors force using Imperial Guard to
field a Dark Mechanicus Ally, alas it wasn’t to be and that project will have
to be for another time </div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">
It was then put forward that the army you choose should
challenge your skills and both a painter, and a gamer. As soon as this was
agreed upon, there was one army that just kept on nagging at me to be
attempted. This particular force, I have had affection for, for years, I love
their background, the theme and the way they would play on the table top. The
idea of an incredibly fast, hard hitting army appeals to me greatly, however,
there is one problem, painting white...</div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">

The reason I have never collected a brotherhood of White
Scars before is the fact that painting white scares the hell out of me. We all
know this isn’t a cheap hobby and I was not convinced that I would be able to
do the army justice, but sod it right? It’s time to bite the bullet and put
those fears behind me, for the time of the khan is upon us. </div>

<br />
so what has been going on eh? Well I've been pretty busy with other stuff the last month or so, on top of that, this heatwave we've had, makes working on models a nightmare, but that's not to say nothing has happened at all...<br />
<br />
Me and a few others have decided to start a Necromunda campaign at my local club, as a write this heads are being scratched and people are trying to remember how to play the bloody game... We're meeting today so we'll be sorting out all the random rolls, and maybe if we're lucky getting the first game(s) under our belts...<br />
<br />
Now the only thing that really remains to be seen is whether I can do SAMCRO justice with my Necromunda gang as that is what I am going to base them upon. The gang will be based upon my favourite characters from the series:<br />
<br />
President (Gang Leader) Jax<br />
- Bolt Gun, Chainsword<br />
<br />
Sergeant at Arms (Heavy) Opie<br />
- Heavy Stubber<br />
<br />
Man of Mayhem (Heavy) Happy<br />
- Flamer, Lasgun<br />
<br />
Ganger - Tig<br />
- Shotgun with Manstopper Shells<br />
<br />
Ganger - Chibs<br />
- Lasgun<br />
<br />
Ganger - Kozek<br />
- Lasgun<br />
<br />
Ganger - Juice <br />
- Autogun<br />
<br />
Ganger - Bobby<br />
- Autogun<br />
<br />
Ganger- Piney<br />
-Shotgun with Manstopper Shells<br />
<br />
Prospect (Juve) Half-Sack<br />
- Auto Pistol<br />
<br />
Prospect (Juve) Filthy Phil<br />
- Auto Pistol<br />
<br />
That gives me a total of 11 Ganger members, 6 of which are actual Gangers and leaves me with 10 Credits spare to put into my stash...<br />
<br />

So here I am once more, and as promised yesterday we have some new photos of some very old models. I have over the last few weeks been scouring the tinterweb, and managed to come up with some very, very old gems. These models date back to Second Edition and are going to be incorporated into the Ork Snakebites.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpjbO4HNfveq4JD-sKK-kxnPTd_yxD4w_ExgWC-YCr79kVhHzsNWFRAQDtT-A7GMdioQv5yxzBquVnWeeZVdiXSizLHUjQmPH5O5vYV4DPiWm_2rtK7IDx5l1cpKL6rTLBiBzJgKl6e3cV/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpjbO4HNfveq4JD-sKK-kxnPTd_yxD4w_ExgWC-YCr79kVhHzsNWFRAQDtT-A7GMdioQv5yxzBquVnWeeZVdiXSizLHUjQmPH5O5vYV4DPiWm_2rtK7IDx5l1cpKL6rTLBiBzJgKl6e3cV/s320/001.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Squig Catapults!</td></tr>

<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlZR8b7IrDUc5FJP34OaXbOQwPgqH-sRAjztmSoj7S95FGUmCyq3fZ5_3oNduQPnsjxgdYXBJnmlrISJuc-iWKvKcJNh36L3gAAN4v0XMNT1AdtReQAF-L5ejR5u-WtJBlvc-UAVL0r1w1/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlZR8b7IrDUc5FJP34OaXbOQwPgqH-sRAjztmSoj7S95FGUmCyq3fZ5_3oNduQPnsjxgdYXBJnmlrISJuc-iWKvKcJNh36L3gAAN4v0XMNT1AdtReQAF-L5ejR5u-WtJBlvc-UAVL0r1w1/s320/003.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Splat!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I love the character that oozes out of these models, just the concept alone is brilliant. I remember my best friends dad, owning a couple in his collection and ever since have wanted my own, and besides this is probably one of the best pieces of Ork artwork that they have ever done:<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy564KW0MS8jwZoCioEiAbVsNKgiLrODKrFOoZKR4tHysW636DwrNHe3Q7qggA1iwDCVnx_sC_0rBke_QNdfQeK2OeqHBeD29NKj8uLE2dFynAcEgrRk9OQNjmZq7Csk4Kc54o5RH7mJfU/s266/250px-SquigKatapult01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy564KW0MS8jwZoCioEiAbVsNKgiLrODKrFOoZKR4tHysW636DwrNHe3Q7qggA1iwDCVnx_sC_0rBke_QNdfQeK2OeqHBeD29NKj8uLE2dFynAcEgrRk9OQNjmZq7Csk4Kc54o5RH7mJfU/s266/250px-SquigKatapult01.png" /></a></div>
<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It doesn't need to be said what these will be used as during games, and they have in turn furthered my inspiration. This however will not be a project which gets started for a while, as there as so many other snakebites that need to be built. It will however involve this:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiF9ukQP6Ce8V_x1AR8koc5oOFs_FY43W0hRQX7_zCZmSeLbBngf10Pc4r-lYbYQ-jIQCU9Lb8fQQI3OoQaPtm3foZZkYAOGliCij1L4V0DKruq8WUWu-PPkWywa9t1wHogPXXF7a7zEPP/s873/m1183928_99110209123_O&GGoblinRockLobberMain_873x627.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiF9ukQP6Ce8V_x1AR8koc5oOFs_FY43W0hRQX7_zCZmSeLbBngf10Pc4r-lYbYQ-jIQCU9Lb8fQQI3OoQaPtm3foZZkYAOGliCij1L4V0DKruq8WUWu-PPkWywa9t1wHogPXXF7a7zEPP/s320/m1183928_99110209123_O&GGoblinRockLobberMain_873x627.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
So anyway, the Squig Catapults came with the following crew, so they will be built and painted up along side. </div>
<div>
<div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

as well as the Squig Catapults I also decided to pick up a few classic Snakebites, because well why not?</div>

<br /></div>
<div>
I plan on adding a few of these to each unit, to vary the army up a bit, and to pay homage to when Orks had plenty of character, something that unfortunately has dwindled in all armies since 2nd edition. Or maybe build an entire squad out of these Out of Production miniatures.</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyway, until next time!</div>

And on the 360 the Khorne Lord of Skulls looks much better than the shitty image we were first presented with... And all the terrain looks very nice... all the obelisk for the necrons looks very snazzy still<br />
<br />
so what's the problem?<br />
<br />
'Heldrake fear squadron' (X3 Heldrakes) £135.00 while a normal Heldrake costs £45.00<br />
<br />
The Greentide (10 units of Ork Boyz + a Warboss with Attack Squig) £195 the prices for Ork Boyz: £18.00 and the Ork Warboss: £15.00<br />
<br />
every apocalypse formation is the same, as far as I am aware...<br />
<br />
What is the point in releasing these massive formations of normal units only to not make the price cheaper when you bulk buy? When the last Apocalypse supplement came around, you saved on average 30% on buying the models individually...<br />
<br />
the savings were one of Apocalypse's biggest selling points... and they have gone and stuck a middle finger up to their Customer base... again...<br />
<br />
<br />
Anyway stop by later this weekend to see some good OOP Orks being added to my Snakebites...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09801908104913267781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7300172491797592251.post-8398490049355607662013-06-18T08:35:00.000-07:002013-06-18T11:41:06.150-07:00Spider Squig, Spider Squig, Does whatever a Spider-Squig doesHello all,<br />
<br />
just a little post today, firstly to say I am back from Download Festival, where I spent five days in a muddy field, drinking and singing along to some awesome bands, even dislocating my knee on Saturday night failed to put a dampener on my spirits, and I spent the rest of the time rocking on with a makeshift crutch.<br />
<br />
there is a reason that I am telling you this however, and that is that my productivity with my orks may dwindle for a little while as a result, this is due to my work station being a right state (as any self-respecting Mek-Boyz would be) and as such it makes it rather difficult to get in to do any modelling/painting.<br />
<br />
secondly, I would like to thank everybody who has ever taken the time to stop by my Blog, I have now reached 5000 views, which I am very happy about, so a big thank you to all... anyway, on with the show right?<br />
<br />
today I have some images for you of the continued work that is going on with the Arachnarok Spider/Battlewagon, so without further ado...<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

the combination of the kits was actually relatively simple, a bit of cutting and greenstuffing and the Orks had the stand well on the way...<br />

Chaos took the winnings, while a fantastically painted Tau army took both second and best painted, third place went to chaos and best sportsmanship fell to an Ork Player<br />

I believe that everybody had fun and are hopefully going to return to our next tournament in September...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09801908104913267781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7300172491797592251.post-68358525544430687982013-06-06T13:40:00.000-07:002013-06-06T13:40:09.186-07:00Building a *Better* Feral BattlewagonHello all, apologies on the lack of updates, a quick one today, will upload photos of the tournament soon, I promise... haha<br />
<br />
So the amassing Ork Horde continues, have had my thinking cap on, and have some great ideas for some conversions, one of which I could not resist so out went the dosh and in came:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbD0PoWwCNn1DBeIoSEXiRrkKVJGv-4qBNpo92H57L_MbCqMBzbuT7QgKHgfC0KM3D7MEKEEwfmflgX9qtSd5v4gYtVTZvfRNVBkrL2FTMG_hDbaouhc8CRRcbsXU-e-_p_x_rZN2YiYFj/s1600/Arachnarok+Spider.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbD0PoWwCNn1DBeIoSEXiRrkKVJGv-4qBNpo92H57L_MbCqMBzbuT7QgKHgfC0KM3D7MEKEEwfmflgX9qtSd5v4gYtVTZvfRNVBkrL2FTMG_hDbaouhc8CRRcbsXU-e-_p_x_rZN2YiYFj/s320/Arachnarok+Spider.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZrKQiVp4Rqi_AkWj3JloEiSkrmvoOGc8jmDHMuPPuYKCSEB9nBzhlC6Bt4g8oLI1m93dSAI6qlRmEA9NWiaaXBAx3h3Vu1kH6bU5p-jMdAarufMESNM4_7NYNqkWMBlPVctRE4RAP_WNt/s1600/Goblin+Town.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZrKQiVp4Rqi_AkWj3JloEiSkrmvoOGc8jmDHMuPPuYKCSEB9nBzhlC6Bt4g8oLI1m93dSAI6qlRmEA9NWiaaXBAx3h3Vu1kH6bU5p-jMdAarufMESNM4_7NYNqkWMBlPVctRE4RAP_WNt/s320/Goblin+Town.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I mean what screams feral more than a bunch of greenskins riding a giant spider into battle, this conversion, safe to say has got me very much worried, as there is a lot of money already invested into this, but the good news is there is so much planking in the Goblin Town that I will have lots of basing materials for other conversions (which are on hold at the moment until I ruin the Arachnarok Spider) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
so here are the obligatory WIP shots...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">All he wants to do is give you a hug!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Not sure how on earth I am going to do this, feel like I should put him on a base, as it gives me lots of opportunity to do a nice converted base, this thing scuttling over a tank is what I am leaning towards but... the base he is supplied with is square and so much larger than the oval flying base, which is the biggest equivalent in 40K... Oh decisions, decisions.<div>

<br />
just a quick post today, to explain the lack of updates this month...<br />
<br />
Myself and another gamer, Mikey, have been organising a tournament that is taking place next Sunday, it's the first of its kind for our club, as before we have only done in house events but this one has been opened up to the wider world. By the looks of it, we're going to have a pretty good turn out too, but there is room for more, so if you live in the UK, In the South East, why not throw your hat into the ring... details are below:<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/q71w24dkql81pbw/Tournament%20pack13may%20.doc">https://www.dropbox.com/s/q71w24dkql81pbw/Tournament%20pack13may%20.doc</a><br />
<br />
Probably just wishful thinking but hey-ho. However, due to the fact I am running this tournament, all hobby time has been put into organising the venue, advertising, scenery making, negotiating etc etc, which has left VERY little time for anything else...<br />
<br />
But I did manage to find time to buy more models to not paint up ;)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09801908104913267781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7300172491797592251.post-83977388536694150822013-05-19T14:35:00.000-07:002013-05-19T14:35:34.182-07:00Snakebites: Rank and FileHello all,<br />
<br />
Just a short post today, just to touch base and to show some WIP pictures of the first Mobs for the Snakebites, that have started to receive some paint. These are just models from the basic units, while I get used to painting Snakebites.<br />

Really enjoying painting up the Grots, can't imagine the fun they must have had when they were sculpting them. The models are just full of character and really quirky. Now onto the proper Ladz. </div>

The first of the Ork Boyz, I wont lie, painting up about 100 of them is very much a daunting task, these photos also lead me on to a little question. Lots of these Ork Boyz have armour plates strapped to their backs and shoulders, the rest of the model I am quite confident with, however I am unsure as to how I should paint the armour plates, if anyone has any suggestions they would be much appreciated.</div>

<br />
As Monday was a bank holiday, me and two other members of my gaming club, met up to do some good old fashioned board making, off we popped to a local builders merchant and came back with my car loaded with sixteen 2' by 2' tiles of mdf, not bad for 30 quid...<br />
<br />
We sat around and discussed what kind of boards we could make for a while, we eventually settled on two 6' by 4' boards one to be a Martian Desert, the other, a World War-esque No Man's Land, the latter, to eventually be extended to a massive 12' by 6' complete with trench system and so on...<br />
<br />
anyway, here's how we got on:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3XpJednDegajKfLOfgtb3s964DpjwdYgVnGCWoEhM6xVteo63W_K7BQCny44sH0V690hDwzxbrGgqrBin305gG-fwfHb-Dvti05jC-NYqMD01urKEmDWB6PBqhl8ii6y8Ro16OETmcAvR/s1600/IMG_0511.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3XpJednDegajKfLOfgtb3s964DpjwdYgVnGCWoEhM6xVteo63W_K7BQCny44sH0V690hDwzxbrGgqrBin305gG-fwfHb-Dvti05jC-NYqMD01urKEmDWB6PBqhl8ii6y8Ro16OETmcAvR/s320/IMG_0511.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A nice sunny day, perfect for board making...</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />As you can see the No-Man's Land board is coming on nicely, needs a few touch ups, but it basically there, I even started building some scenery for it...<div>
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCQlJp-pdcuiIY5oqdtKtJdTMv-euWKipn3lnf34TtpjDu0SnMlouWFcVqi3vmtjEnzS-6PS9fAAC94krXNX6Iee1d-35cV9U2uu9O942R2bQqJ1A6Iqis-PRbppRe4yAqNofrFC1xcyDC/s1600/IMG_0510.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCQlJp-pdcuiIY5oqdtKtJdTMv-euWKipn3lnf34TtpjDu0SnMlouWFcVqi3vmtjEnzS-6PS9fAAC94krXNX6Iee1d-35cV9U2uu9O942R2bQqJ1A6Iqis-PRbppRe4yAqNofrFC1xcyDC/s320/IMG_0510.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Don't worry, there will be more scenery than this on the board</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
The theme for the No-Man's Land board, will be heavy devastation, blown up vehicles, forests that have been obliterated by shell fire and even the odd ruined building...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now for the Martian Desert, here are some WIP shots, of both the board and the scenery, the theme for this will be Rocky Outcrops, Sand Dunes, a Mechanicum Research Facility etc, etc.:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And here was how the board was looking this morning: </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Weapons that can level cities. A warship capable of breaking entire fleet blockades. But this means nothing in the Long War. We can leave scars on steel, but so can any ragged pirate vessel with a battery of macro-cannons. We are the Eighth Legion. We wound flesh, steel and souls alike. We scar memories. We scar minds. Our actions must mean something, or we deserve to be forgotten, left to rot amongst ancient mythology.'</i><br />

<br />
So this is it, the final post for First Claw, the final post of this week, which obviously details First Claw as a whole...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Firstly I would like to thank everybody who has looked at my posts, provided comments and criticism, it really does help to spur me on to carry on posting photos and modelling, and to improve my painting techniques...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The question is, where do we go from here... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have already ordered some replacement parts for Variel, as I said, I wasn't really happy the out-come of him, so in time the Flayer will be re-appearing. Mercutian has been entered into my local GW's painting competition this month, not that I expect him to win as some of the entries were brilliant. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cyrion will also as some point be getting a remodelling too, but that's on hold for the moment. Lastly in regards to First Claw, I have ordered parts for my Duel entry, which doesn't need to be completed until September. However it will feature a particularly memorable battle between First Claw, and a particularly up-start champion of the Imperium. Any guesses?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Okay I'll give you a hint:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyway... Until next time...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Ciao!</div>

<i><br /></i>
So here he is, the man of the hour Talos Valcorian, Soul Hunter, The Prophet and Leader of the 10th Company. The star of the show, Aaron Dembski-Bowden's conversion of the character from a humble Chaos Marine to a ruthless but disillusioned Chaos Lord is, simply a work of art. The description of Talos in Soul Hunter still sends a shiver down my spine.<br />
<br />
Onto the photos...<br />
